Mr & Mrs S were looking to convert their utility room into a downstairs shower-room for guests “with lots of wow factor”.
We said “no problem”, but then we then realised that the boiler, washing machine, tumble drier and freezer all needed to stay and a toilet and basin were needed too. In a space just over eight feet square it was indeed a challenge.
To eliminate the bulk of a cubicle we opted for an open shower, a wall-hung WC to release more floor space and a bespoke fitment for the basin, storage and the concealment of appliances.
As for the requested ‘wow factor’, we think we cracked it with our recommendation of natural Travertine wall and floor tiles, bespoke cabinetry in Farrow and Ball ‘Mizzle’, a Corian basin and countertop and a vast mirror LED back-lit on contrasting wall-paper.
